2010 and 2011
Well welcome to the new year! As I reflect on the past 365 days, I’d have to say 2010 was a great year. Weddings and engagements were a big part of it. In March my brother Eric and Nicole got married and I couldn’t be more happy. I love them both and enjoyed every moment of 2010 I got to hang out with them. In November my sister Christy and Dane got engaged, and the wedding is set out for October of this year. Theres lots to be done but I’m super pumped for them and them sharing their lives together. My buddy Brett got engaged as well. Their wedding will be in June of this year and I’m really exited for him and Hannah.
As for me I think I’ve found what I want to do for a degree at KSU and I’m nervous yet anxious for the road ahead and what it has to offer. For me this is something big. I’m always one to be really worried about my future and whats going to happen but who shouldn’t be right? I also got involved in a Life Group this year. Life Group is a small group bible study of other KSU guys. This is something that has really helped me and challenged me in my faith. But i’m very grateful for it. I love the brotherhood and accountability the group has and for me its nice to have something constant and real in this world. Lastly my parents. I’ve always appreciated my parents and what they have done for me but I never really came to grasp with how much they do. I don’t thank them enough. All the support financially for school, spiritually, providing for me, and being there for me. Thanks so much and I love both of you. You guys are the best!
So this leads me to my goals for 2011. Now in the wee hours of January 1 I was sitting around in the man cave with Ian, Dane, and Brett and we all came to an agreement we need to be healthier in 2011. We think we’ve pinpointed a good start to becoming more healthy. No more pop all the time. Now you’re probably sitting there saying no way. Well I’m saying the same thing but I’m going to do my best. Yes I believe in rewarding yourself every once in awhile with a nice refreshing Dr. Pepper, but I really want to try limiting that. Ian is now enrolled at KSU this coming semester and we’re hopefully going to get a good workout routine going, and I believe it will help to have a partner to suffer with. Another major one for me is getting back into the word as well as prayer more often. It seemed in 2010 both of those were pretty idle for a majority of the time. I really want to pick that up a lot more and make it a part of me day in and day out. Meditating in prayer and through scripture. I know Paul encourages us to pray without ceasing and that seems like a mountain to me, but I’m going to try my best. Lastly I’d like to get rid of a few habits and also start to write more and become more mature in that. It’d be great to have some of my own stuff to play on occasion.
Well that about sums it all up. I look forward to the coming year and the people that I get to share it with. I love you all and I hope that 2011 brings the best out in all of us.
